Baffle ceiling system

The GYPSONITE Baffle Panel Ceiling System offers a unique liner-type ceiling solution characterized by U-shaped panels suspended in an alternative pattern from the ceiling using a U strip carrier.

This system provides ease of installation, lightweight construction, aesthetic appeal, design versatility, acoustic properties, and easy access for maintenance.

Advantages:

  • Easy Installation: The baffle panel system is easy to install, making it suitable for various commercial and residential applications.
  • Lightweight: Constructed from lightweight materials, the baffle panels are easy to handle and install, reducing installation time and labor costs.
  • Aesthetic Appeal: The baffle panels offer a beautiful and contemporary look, enhancing the visual appeal of any space.
  • Design Versatility: With various design possibilities, including different heights, color patterns, figures, and wooden finishes, the baffle panel system allows for creativity and customization.
  • Acoustic Properties: The panels can be perforated to improve acoustic performance, absorbing and dispersing sound waves to create a more comfortable acoustic environment.
  • Easy Maintenance: The baffle panel system allows for easy uninstallation and reinstallation in case of maintenance or repairs in the plenum.

Acoustic Properties:

The Baffle panel ceiling system offers good acoustic properties, especially when perforated panels are used. Perforations in the panels aid in sound absorption and distribution, enhancing the acoustic environment of the space. The standard diameter of the punching hole is 1.8 mm and 2.5 mm, with various punching options available, such as square and rectangular. Non-woven acoustic fleece can be added inside the panels to further improve acoustic performance.

Insulation Properties:

Due to the absence of a plenum between the main and false ceiling in the baffle panel system, it does not provide insulation properties. However, additional insulation materials like glass wool or rock wool pads can be integrated inside the panels for enhanced thermal and acoustic insulation.

Design:

The baffle panel system offers various design possibilities, including different heights, color patterns, figures, and wooden finishes. Panels can be installed in straight or alternative patterns to create unique designs. The gap between two baffle panels is typically equal to the height of the panel to ensure optimal visual appeal and coverage of the main ceiling.

Acoustic Value:

Plain Baffle Panels:  NRC: Typically ranges from 0.50 to 0.70 & RH%: Designed to withstand indoor relative humidity levels ranging from 30% to 70%

Perforated Baffle Panels: NRC: Enhanced NRC values compared to plain panels, typically ranging from 0.60 to 0.80 or higher, depending on the perforation pattern and backing material & RH%: Similar to plain panels, designed to withstand indoor relative humidity levels ranging from 30% to 70%

Best Places to Install:

Ideal for showrooms, departmental stores, shops, restaurants, cafeterias, offices, conference rooms, and other high-traffic areas where a lavish and exclusive look is desired.

Sizes:

The standard size of baffle panels is 50 mm, 75 mm, 100 mm, 150 mm, 200 mm in height and 25 mm, 50mm in width, and with a variable center-to-center gap. However, other specifications can be customized according to project requirements. The length of baffle panels can be up to 4000 mm in white coil-coated color, or 3600 mm for other colors or wooden finishes.

Material Selection:

Baffle panels are available in various materials, including Galvanized Iron (GI), Aluminum. The choice of material depends on factors such as durability, aesthetics, and budget. Extruded aluminum panels are also available for added durability and visual appeal.

Hardware and Installation:

The installation of the baffle panel system can be done in two ways: wall-to-wall or on alternative lengths. Both methods offer easy installation and ensure a beautiful and seamless look. The hardware required for installation includes suspension rods, panel jointers, threaded wire, top and bottom brackets, edge profiles, threaded wire nuts, washers, baffle bolts, nuts, washers, end caps, and carriers. Installation guidelines ensure proper alignment and spacing of panels for optimal visual impact.
